Recently, I had the opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking clinical study at Bond University in Australia that explored an innovative approach to improving health. This technique, also known as tapping, was being researched for its potential to enhance eye sight and overall wellbeing.
What struck me most about the study was the emphasis on the necessity of overcoming resistance to change. Change can be challenging, but it's essential for recovery and growth. In the case of EFT, the technique was shown to be even more successful than Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when it came to improving participants' symptoms. EFT tapping calms the entire nervous system in minutes. It does not change the circumstances but I have seen my clients going from crying to smiling in 5 minutes. It is something I teach everyone. Something I learned that was interesting in this study is that people who tap generally maintain the results whereas those with other forms of therapy often relapse within a year and have to go back for more. You may argue that it is true and yet saying it just re-enforces this reality. Soften it by saying things like: I choose to be energized, I prefer to feel relaxed and calm, I am relaxing so as to have more energy later. Your words can be your best friend or make you tired.
