Do normal people ever get down and anxious?

I want to be normal- is that possible?

When I ask my clients what they want they often tell me they want to be normal. I get it but is it possible? I ask what that was like and they respond with things like, "the way I used to be". Again is that a realistic expectation. If you were married with one man when you were happy can you still be happy with the current man in your life? When you see me, you will tell me you suffer from anxiety. I will then take you into hypnosis and ask if there is depression. The difference between depression and anxiety have in common that while one is focused in the past, the other is future based. The clients really do not know the difference. They have the same common complaint of not enjoying life. The only thing I can do is work on both at the same time.

To be in a state of peace one must be mindful of their thoughts. In hypnosis, one of the questions I often ask my clients is whether they are experiencing any symptoms of depression or anxiety. It is interesting to note that while depression and anxiety may seem similar, they actually have distinct differences. Understanding these differences can help individuals find peace and seek appropriate treatment.

Depression is often characterized by a persistent feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in activities that were once enjoyable. It is a condition that is focused on the past, often rooted in unresolved emotional issues or traumatic experiences. People with depression may struggle to find joy in life and may experience difficulty concentrating or making decisions.

On the other hand, anxiety is a condition that is future-based, characterized by excessive worry, fear, and a constant feeling of unease. Individuals with anxiety may have racing thoughts, experience physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat or shortness of breath, and may avoid certain situations or activities due to their fears.

Despite the differences, both depression and anxiety share a common complaint - the inability to fully enjoy life. The constant presence of negative emotions can be overwhelming and impact one's overall well-being.

Finding peace amidst these challenges is crucial. Here are a few ways to cultivate peace:

1. Seek professional help: Consulting with a mental health professional can provide valuable insights and guidance on managing depression and anxiety. They can help identify the underlying causes and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

2. Practice self-care: Engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation can help alleviate symptoms. This can include taking a walk in nature or playing sports. Even moving your body changes outcomes.

I like tapping and hypnosis and yet even when things are going well life is a rocky road. When I work on others I get great results and yet some days it is nice to let others work on me. What ever you choose to do remember to be kind to yourself.
