The Determined Path to Quitting Smoking: Your Success is My Mission

When it comes to quitting smoking or vaping, the journey begins with a crucial conversation. As your guide and supporter in this transformative process, I take the time to understand your readiness to embrace a smoke-free life. The initial dialogue we engage in is not just a formality—it's a test of your commitment and a step towards ensuring your success is achievable.

Why is this conversation so critical? It's because it reveals your true intentions and preparedness to quit smoking. For instance, if you've recently invested in a stockpile of cigarettes, the temptation to pass them on or consume them might be strong. However, I challenge you to consider a bold act: flushing them down the toilet. This might seem drastic, but it's a powerful indicator of your resolve. By disposing of your cigarettes, you're not only protecting yourself but also refusing to contribute to the harm of others. After all, if you acknowledge the dangers of smoking, why would you facilitate the same harm to someone you care about?

This act also signifies something deeper—if you're hesitant to discard the cigarettes, it may reveal an underlying uncertainty about quitting. To be truly ready, you must be willing to let go completely, without a safety net of tobacco to fall back on.

The next phase of our discussion centers on motivation. Why do you want to quit smoking? Authentic, self-driven reasons resonate with a readiness to change. Perhaps you envision a future where your children thrive in a smoke-free environment, or you long to reclaim your health and vitality. These are signs of a genuine desire for transformation.

Conversely, motivations that stem from external pressure—such as ultimatums from doctors or loved ones—often mask resistance. Quitting smoking should be an inspired decision, not one born out of fear or coercion. Your reason for quitting needs to come from within, as internal motivation is the key to lasting change.

I also ask for many other actions. Throw out all the ashtrays. You no longer need them. Clean out your car which is a place where people smoke often. Make sure you do not smoke for 24 hours because if you do, we need to cancel the session. Part of this is to see if you will do what you are told in hypnosis. If I tell you to wash all your clothes to get rid of the smell and you come back with an excuse that you did not have enough change for the laundromat, then already I know you will be riddled with excuses for not quitting. My teacher always told me that one of the most powerful tools in smoking cessation is to charge enough so that it weans out those who are not ready. If a person spends $500 per month, charge them $750 which is a small amount to pay in comparison with the $3000 they would spend if the continue to smoke for a year.

Your success in quitting smoking is my goal. Together, we'll explore your motivations, confront the challenges, and pave a path toward a healthier, smoke-free life. Your readiness to quit is the first step, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.
